Climate-Resilient and Low-Carbon Water Supply Infrastructure

This component focuses on improving access to reliable, climate-resilient, and environmentally sustainable domestic and industrial water supply services in Botha-Bothe District and surrounding settlements. The interventions are designed to strengthen water security while reducing carbon emissions and enhancing resilience to climate change impacts.

Sanitation Services Improvement

This component supports the strengthening of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service delivery through integrated and sustainable interventions. It comprises the following sub-components:
  • Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion: Increasing public awareness and promoting positive sanitation and hygiene behaviours.
  • Climate-Resilient Sanitation Infrastructure: Development of sustainable and climate-resilient public sanitation facilities, including targeted support for the most vulnerable households.
  • Faecal Sludge Management (FSM): Establishment of a pilot, sustainable, and climate-resilient faecal sludge management treatment facility in Botha-Bothe District.

Institutional Strengthening, Capacity Building and Project Management

Under this component, LLWDP III facilitates sector development activities aimed at strengthening policies, regulatory frameworks, and institutional capacities. The component focuses on building and enhancing the capacity of sector institutions at community, local, and national levels to improve service delivery, governance, and sustainable management of water and sanitation services.
